New Years Resolution

So I have not accessed this journal in probably 4 years. I actually could not believe I knew my password and username. But for my New Years resolution I decided to start keeping a journal. I probably won't make posts daily, but I will try to keep up with what is going on in my life. I figured this was probably my best method for doing this so here goes...

We're so close to the end of school. It is great. I can't wait for summer. A few of my classes are pretty much over. For my French class we are just watching a movie until the end. It is great. In my physics class we took our last actual test on Tuesday. I don't have to go back there because our final is an online quiz. We get two chances at each problem. It is crazy.

For the past few weeks I have been going with a group from UT to this place called Western Heights on Wednesday afternoons to hang out, play games, and have Bible studies with these middle school kids who are less fortunate than most. It has been a great experience for me. The first time I went I was really nervous. I'm not very good with kids at all, no matter what their age may be. But as the weeks have gone on, I have been getting better with them. There is this one little girl who always talks to me and tells me how her week is going. She is so sweet. I am going to miss going their next year. I have really enjoyed it.

Well I hope everyone has a great last few weeks of school.

Wil Wheaton

My cousin Kelli and I do not get to see each other very often. She lives seven hours away from me. Every year I would go visit her for Thanksgiving and a couple weeks during the summer. Every time we saw each other we would pick up right where we left off. We were pretty much best friends who only saw each other twice a year. We got along really well and always had so much fun when we were together.

One summer when we were seven years old, we decided to put together a show to perform for our grandparents and parents. We made up interpretive dances to oldies music. We continued doing these shows for the next few years. We would do one show in the summer and one over Thanksgiving. With every show we would get more “professional” each time. We took this stuff pretty seriously for some reason. My cousin was really good with “technical” things. So she always put all the music together and made programs and such. Yeah we had programs (with star bios) and tickets. I always made up the dances. The last few shows were themed. We even had raffles at a couple for some reason.

We were crazy. I don’t know why we took this stuff so seriously. Now we have videos and pictures from theses shows to look back on and laugh at ourselves, which we do.

The week is almost over. After this week, in mind mind at least, it is like I only have two real weeks left. I'm not really counting next week because it is a three day week for me, and three day weeks always fly past. Pretty much the only big thing I have left to do in any of my classes is the big project we have in English. So my mind is pretty much done with school. I still have some finals to take and everything, but I really don't think they will be that bad. This semester I got really lucky with most of my classes being extremely easy, and on top of that I only took 15 hours. It was a really nice break for the semester.

Friday night I'm going to the baseball game, that is if the whether is good enough. Saturday I'm going to the orange and white game. This will most likely be my last time in Neyland stadium as a student here. It is kind of sad. I am transferring in the fall to a smaller private school, but I am really going to miss the football games next year.

That is about it for now. Nothing to exciting happening.

On Thursday two of my friends from back home headed this direction to spend a few days here with me and Leah. I was so excited for them to come visit. We had tickets to the Billy Currington, Sara Evans, Brad Paisley concert. It was gonna be so much fun. The tickets were in the ticket office for us to pick up on the day of the concert. For some reason my friend Mary Morgan thought the concert was on the 31st. So Me and Leah just assumed that it was on Friday the 31st. Earlier in the week one of my friends who wasn't going to the concert mentioned that another one of her friends was going to the concert, but it was on Thursday night. I thought that was strange, but didn't think too much about whether she was right or not. Thursday I ran into another friend who knew someone going to the concert, and they said it was on Thursday as well. By then I was getting a little worried. So I went and checked online to see when the concert really was, and it turned out that the concert was indeed Thursday, that night!! It was about 4 in the afternoon when I realized this. I called my two friends who were on their way to knoxville to see where they were. They had stopped half way to do some shopping and lost track of time. They were a while away. So I told them to hurry up and get here as soon as possible because the concert was that night. They were shocked. They got here at a good time. We didn't have to rush as much as we thought we were going to have to. Anyways, we made it to the concert, had a great, got to meet Sara evans, and it was a blast. Good thing we realized it was on Thursday instead of Friday.

Spring Break

I happily left Knoxville on Thursday afternoon. My friend McKenzie and I left campus around 3 and got into Franklin at a relatively good hour. That night I was able to see a few of my friends that I knew I wouldn't have been able to see the entire break had I gotten in on Friday night.

Friday I went shopping with one of my friends who was on Spring break the week before ours. I had to find a new swimsuit for my trip at the end of the week. Friday night I went to the Wildhorse for my friend's birthday. For those of you who don't know, the Wildhorse is a country bar where you line dance, and well it is a lot of fun if you like country music.

For the next four days I chilled. I slept in late, that was really nice. I ate a whole lot of good food. Pretty much I was extremely lazy, but it was great.

On Wednesday I flew to Miami. I had never flown anywhere by myself before, but it wasn't bad. I went to Miami to visit one of my best friends from high school who goes to school at the University of Miami. It was great to see her. Wednesday night we went to this sports bar on campus, yes they serve alcohol on campus there. It was so strange, being so used to this "dry campus" and all.

She was so nice and skipped all her classes on Thursday and Friday. Thursday we went to the beach at Key Biscayne. There was practically no one there. It was really peaceful. We stayed there pretty much all day. That night we went to this shopping area and had dinner at this restaurant that served only appetizers. It was really good.

Friday one of my friends, who goes to school here, docked from her trip to the Bahamas. She came to Miami and spent the rest of the time with us. It was so much fun. We went to South Beach on Friday. The weather wasn't wonderful, so we ended up going shopping after a while on the beach rather than laying out all day long. That night we had dinner at this ti-ki bar place on the water. Later on we went to this Greek restaurant where you dance on the tables. It was quite an experience.

Saturday, we slept in late, went to lunch, and then it was time to fly home. By then my Spring break was pretty much over, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now I'm counting down the weeks until Summer.

One more day!!!!

I can do this...I see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's almost here and I can't wait.

This morning I woke up at 6:15 to study for a philosophy test that I should have studied for last night, but I put off and put off and ended up not studying for. I was actually surprised that I woke up that early to study, but if I hadn't it would have been very bad for my grade. So I took that test at 8. It was a little tough, but I think I did well on it.

I came back to the room after English and took a nap. I have been so tired recently, but it is always at times when I am not able to get in bed and go to sleep. I have had a cold for the past few days and I am trying to get over that before I leave for Spring Break, because no one wants to be sick over Spring Break.

After a while I am going to take a French test. I haven't studied at all for this one, so I should probably look over some of it before taking it. I don't think it will be that hard though. Tomorrow I have a physics test. That one might be a bit of a challenge, but I'm leaving right after that to go home for Spring Break. Somehow I don't think I will be putting to much time into studying for that test.

And then it is off to Franklin and then Miami. It's gonna be great.

One week to Spring Break. I think I can make it. It will be so nice to not have classes for an entire week and just be able to relax and not think about anything.

Ok so I am officially a complete idiot. So I have been going to the tanning bed for the past week and a half in preparation for spring break (probably should have started earlier). I had never done the whole tanning bed thing before and I knew absolutely nothing about anything regarding tanning. So I had been going for an entire week, and I was in the tanning bed and noticed that it was possible to move the top up and down. So I pulled it down a little ways and let go. It went back up, so I figured it was meant to stay up. It did make me wonder whether it was supposed to come down all the way or not. So later that day I asked Mckenzie and Leah if I was supposed to pull the top down. And of course their answer was YES!!!!! They could not believe I had been tanning for an entire week and had not even pulled to top down. I was wondering why I wasn't really getting any tanner, and I thought it was a pretty uneven tan overall. So now that I am tanning correctly, I'm doing a whole lot better. It's just sad(in the pathetic sense of the word) that I pretty much just wasted a week of tanning, but it's funny at the same time. So that is definitely the dumbest thing I have done in a while. Oh well, you live and learn.

Today has been a pretty lazy day for me so far. I only have one class on Thursdays. I didn't really want to go to the one class I have today because it was a guest lecturer. She has been there the past two times, which I have gone to, but I really did not enjoy either day, so I decided not to go today. So I got to sleep in. I woke up around 11 maybe a little before, got dressed, and went to the tanning bed. I have never in my life been the tanning bed type person, but this spring break calls for me to go to the tanning bed. If I didn't I would just look completely out of place in Miami. Morning tanning was a good choice on my part because when I got there, there was not any waiting. Yesterday when I went, I waited for about 45 minutes or more. When they finally called my name, I got in there and all the tanning beds in the entire place had shut down. So then I had to wait some more. Anyways back to my lazy day today, after that I came back to the room and wasted some time until lunch. I then went and ate lunch. Now I am back in the room wasting more time. This afternoon Leah, McKenzie, and I are going to our first cycling class. I have heard that it is really hard. We'll see how it goes. We tried to go to one earlier this week, but we showed up two minutes late, which means no cycling. So that's about it. Quite an exciting day, I know.

It is beautiful today. I love days like today. I wore short sleeves and flip flops to lunch at Smokey's today. It was so nice. I want to just stay outside all day long. I hope the weather stays like this for a while. I would much rather have warm weather than cold weather. I know snow is pretty and all, but snow was pretty much only good for getting out of school. I just can't believe it is February and it feels like this. I love Tennessee weather. You get pretty much everything you could ask for. Today just makes me wish it was closer to spring break or summer for that matter.

This weekend is going to be pretty fun. Sunday night is the Keith Urban concert at Thompson Bowling Arena. Pat Green is going to be the opening act. I'm going with my roommate Leah and my friend Mckenzie. Concerts are always so much fun. Pretty much all we have been listening to in the room is Keith Urban and Pat Green to get us pumped for the concert (of course we have to have the occasional Sara Evans as well). I can't wait.

Well that's about it for now. Hope everyone enjoys this beautiful day.
