I happily left Knoxville on Thursday afternoon. My friend McKenzie and I left campus around 3 and got into Franklin at a relatively good hour. That night I was able to see a few of my friends that I knew I wouldn't have been able to see the entire break had I gotten in on Friday night.
Friday I went shopping with one of my friends who was on Spring break the week before ours. I had to find a new swimsuit for my trip at the end of the week. Friday night I went to the Wildhorse for my friend's birthday. For those of you who don't know, the Wildhorse is a country bar where you line dance, and well it is a lot of fun if you like country music.
For the next four days I chilled. I slept in late, that was really nice. I ate a whole lot of good food. Pretty much I was extremely lazy, but it was great.
On Wednesday I flew to Miami. I had never flown anywhere by myself before, but it wasn't bad. I went to Miami to visit one of my best friends from high school who goes to school at the University of Miami. It was great to see her. Wednesday night we went to this sports bar on campus, yes they serve alcohol on campus there. It was so strange, being so used to this "dry campus" and all.
She was so nice and skipped all her classes on Thursday and Friday. Thursday we went to the beach at Key Biscayne. There was practically no one there. It was really peaceful. We stayed there pretty much all day. That night we went to this shopping area and had dinner at this restaurant that served only appetizers. It was really good.
Friday one of my friends, who goes to school here, docked from her trip to the Bahamas. She came to Miami and spent the rest of the time with us. It was so much fun. We went to South Beach on Friday. The weather wasn't wonderful, so we ended up going shopping after a while on the beach rather than laying out all day long. That night we had dinner at this ti-ki bar place on the water. Later on we went to this Greek restaurant where you dance on the tables. It was quite an experience.
Saturday, we slept in late, went to lunch, and then it was time to fly home. By then my Spring break was pretty much over, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now I'm counting down the weeks until Summer.
